On Thursday morning, a terrible incident happened in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
Beyond Boders gathered that a vehicle using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) exploded at the NIPCO filling station located in Aduwawa along the Benin-Auchi Expressway.
In a video shared on social media, the vehicle was completely destroyed, and people nearby were seen running in fear as the loud explosion caused panic in the area.
Three people were injured in the explosion and were quickly taken to a private hospital for treatment.
This explosion has raised more concerns about the safety of changing petrol-powered vehicles to CNG, a plan supported by the Federal Government to reduce transport costs after the removal of fuel subsidy.
