“Dear Nigerian senators, please buy less SUVs and fix our roads,” Mayorkun wrote.
“I’m not sure if you know this, but the roads in Nigeria are in a terrible state. They are so bad that even the most skilled drivers can be humbled by them. It’s unacceptable.”
Mayorkun specifically mentioned the Lekki-Epe expressway, which is a major road in Lagos. He said that the state of the expressway is “totally unacceptable.”
“I’m not sure why you think it’s more important to buy new SUVs than to fix our roads,” Mayorkun continued.
“The roads are essential infrastructure that everyone uses, including you. But the SUVs are just for you. You’re not even using them to help the people you’re supposed to be representing.”
