Kylian Mbappe, the star player of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has officially announced his departure from the club at the end of the season.
In a heartfelt video shared on social media, Mbappe revealed his decision, stating, “I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not extend and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks.”
The news comes as PSG secures their 10th Ligue 1 title in the last 12 seasons. Mbappe will bid farewell to the Parc des Princes stadium after PSG’s upcoming match against Toulouse.
Despite PSG’s domestic success, their recent elimination from the Champions League by Borussia Dortmund means Mbappe would not have the opportunity to chase European glory with the club.
This exit marks the end of his seven-year tenure with PSG, during which he amassed an impressive record.
While Mbappe has not publicly disclosed his next destination, all signs point to a move to Real Madrid.
Reflecting on his time at PSG, Mbappe expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play for one of the world’s top clubs and grow as a player alongside football legends.
Although he did not score in the recent Champions League matches, Mbappe has been prolific throughout the season, netting 43 goals across all competitions, with 26 in Ligue 1 alone.
He aims to add to his impressive goal tally and potentially secure another medal in the upcoming French Cup final.
Following Sunday’s game, PSG will conclude their league fixtures with matches against Nice and Metz.
Mbappe’s final act with the club will be in the French Cup final in Lille, marking the end of an era for the young football sensation at PSG.
