Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has appointed Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Onwe-Adetsina, as the state’s brand ambassador.
The announcement was made on Thursday when Mbah welcomed her and her father, Mr. Okechukwu Onwe, at the Enugu Government House.
Chidimma, who hails from Amurri in Nkanu West, Enugu, was praised by Governor Mbah for her determination and resilience, qualities he said represent the spirit of the people of Enugu State.
“With the height and the feat you have attained today, you are able to act as a major influence to our young people, girls in particular. We are going to look at how you could engage some of our young people, share your experience, what you have been through, and how you got to where you are today. Sharing that will be quite inspiring and encouraging,” Mbah said.
Mbah also highlighted the importance of investing in education, stating that 33% of the state’s budget goes towards youth development, to help them reach their full potential.
