Famous Isoko highlife musician, Dr. Arube Otor, is preparing to wed three women on the same day in Delta State.
A wedding flier circulating online shows Dr. Arube dressed in matching outfits with his three brides-to-be: Oghenekome, Ewoma, and Oghenekaro, all from Delta State.
According to the PUNCH, the musician’s foster son, Emperor Efih (Oscar), shared more details about the unique ceremony. Efih explained that Dr. Arube initially planned to marry four women, but one withdrew due to personal reasons.
“Arube married two women about 20 years ago. One divorced him, leaving him with just one wife. To cut costs, he decided to marry four women this year. Along the way, one pulled out,” Efih said.
Dr. Arube has made a name for himself in Delta State’s music scene. “He is a music legend in Delta. He sings Isoko highlife. He has been in the music scene for over 30 years. However, at the beginning of his life, he was a driver who mixed music with his career. He had a band with a group of people, but they split up, and he formed his dance band, which he named Arube, about 12 years ago. Since then, he has released more than 10 albums,” Efih added.
