NAFDAC Probes Pastor Jeremiah’s ‘Miracle’ Water, Soap – DG

by Beyondboders

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has warned Nigerians about the activities of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Pastor Jeremiah Fufeyin, for allegedly using NAFDAC’s name to deceive the public.

According to NAFDAC’s Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, none of the products advertised and sold by the ministry, including Miracle Water and Miracle Soap, are registered with NAFDAC.

The products are promoted with claims of healing and other miracles, but NAFDAC states that these claims are false.

NAFDAC received several complaints from concerned citizens about these miracle products, which are being sold to the public under false pretenses.

The ministry has showcased these products on social media, claiming they can heal conditions like barrenness and even promising that women will carry twins if they use the soap.

Pastor Fufeyin also falsely claimed that the soap was registered with NAFDAC, leading many to visit NAFDAC offices to confirm these claims.

The products under investigation include various miracle waters such as River Jordan Water, Water of Life, and others associated with spiritual locations like the Pool of Bethsaida and Mount Camel. NAFDAC’s Delta State Coordinator was directed to investigate the ministry and found that the products were being sold at the ministry’s location.

When NAFDAC officials visited the ministry, they were met with resistance. The officials initially denied producing any miracle products, even when presented with evidence of purchase.

Further investigations by NAFDAC and the Federal Task Force on Counterfeit and Fake Drugs revealed that the ministry was uncooperative. The ministry failed to comply with invitations for investigation and instead submitted legal documents seeking more time.

Beyond Boders also reports that NAFDAC later discovered that the ministry claimed to have a production contract with Globod Table Water in Delta State without notifying NAFDAC, which is illegal.

As part of the ongoing investigation, NAFDAC has sealed the Globod Table Water factory to stop the production and sale of these unregistered products.

NAFDAC emphasizes that none of these miracle products are registered with the agency and advises the public to stop buying them.

Prof. Adeyeye also warned other faith-based organizations against producing and selling unregistered products without meeting regulatory standards. She stated, “NAFDAC is scientific organization that is guided by verifiable scientific facts before registering any product. I want to use this opportunity to warn faith organizations against illegal production of regulated products without requisite regulatory requirements.

NAFDAC remains committed to protecting public health and will continue investigating Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries for these suspected illegal activities.
