Renowned Nigerian gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has been invited to minister at the inaugural prayer breakfast for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025. The event will take place in Washington, DC.

The U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast is a faith-based event held every four years before the new administration takes office. It focuses on prayers and worship, providing spiritual support to the president and government.
Bassey shared the news on his Instagram account, posting the event poster with the message: “Let’s raise a sound in America. See you January 20, 2025.”
Reverend Merrie Turner will host the event at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom. Other notable speakers include Pastor Mario Bramick and Avelda King.
Nathaniel Bassey is widely known for the Hallelujah Challenge, an annual worship concert streamed online, which connects millions of worshippers worldwide.
In 2024, Kathy Sheehan, the 75th Mayor of Albany, New York, declared October 6 as “Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day” in his honour.
The gospel artiste from Akwa Ibom is famous for his worship songs such as “Imela,” “Onise Iyanu,” and “Olowogbogboro.” His music, which includes genres like jazz, hymns, and medleys, has made him one of Nigeria’s most celebrated gospel ministers.
