American singer Nicki Minaj was stopped by police at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport for carrying illegal drugs, according to the Netherlands border police.
A spokesperson confirmed that a 41-year-old American citizen was detained after a search found prohibited substances.
Although the police did not mention Nicki Minaj by name, she shared the incident live on Instagram, showing the police trying to arrest her.
In the video, Nicki Minaj said the pre-rolled joints found in her possession did not belong to her.
At first, she refused to cooperate and asked for a lawyer, but eventually agreed and got into a police car.
During her ride, Nicki Minaj worried about making her next concert in Manchester, England, as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. The officer promised to try to get her there as soon as possible.
Later, Nicki Minaj shared more details, saying police claimed to have found marijuana and needed to weigh the pre-rolled joints.
She emphasized that her security team had already told police the pre-rolls belonged to them, not her.
The pilot equally asked her to remove her Instagram post about the incident.
