The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCom) has identified a Nigerian woman living in Canada who allegedly called for the mass poisoning of Yoruba and Benin people.
The woman, who lives in Ontario, Canada, appeared in a disturbing video on social media, where she urged the mass killing of people from the South-West and Benin City, Edo State.
In the video, she spoke during a TikTok live session, encouraging people from the South-East, known as Igbos, to poison the food and water of Yoruba and Benin people at their workplaces.
Speaking in Pidgin English, she said, “Record me very very well. It is time to start poisoning the Yorubas and the Benins. Put poison in all your foods at work. Put poison in all your water so that you all will start dying one-by-one.
“You people will not die one day. You people will fall sick for a long time. I will put Otapiapia (rat poison) inside your waters and foods. You people will never get well.”
The woman continued to express deep hatred, stating that her actions would make Yoruba and Benin people die slowly.
She also mentioned that she would act on her threats soon and urged others to do the same, emphasizing the need for Igbos to be more ruthless and not tolerate Yorubas and Benins, who she described as useless to society.
In response to this alarming video, NiDCom’s Chairman, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, identified the woman as Amaka Patience Sunnberger.
She noted that the woman had deleted her TikTok account, but Nigerians living in Canada have begun reporting her to the relevant Canadian authorities.
“This is the picture of the lady behind the voice. Amaka Patience Sunnberger. She has deleted her TikTok account and a group of Nigerians in Canada are reporting her officially to the relevant authorities in Canada. Thanks for alerting everyone,” Abike Dabiri-Erewa shared on X (formerly Twitter).
The situation has raised significant concern among Nigerians both at home and abroad.
