The Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) has announced that movie tickets will be sold for N1000 to celebrate World Cinema Day on September 21, 2024.
This discount is to thank Nigerians for their continued support of local cinemas and to encourage more people to visit.
Ope Ajayi, the National Chairman of CEAN, said the regular price for movie tickets is about N4000, but for this special day, it will be much lower. He believes that this will make it easier for more Nigerians to enjoy the cinema.
This event is happening for the second time and is expected to attract even more people than last year.
In 2023, the first World Cinema Day saw 21,500 people go to the movies across Nigeria, thanks to the affordable ticket prices.
Ajayi explained that the goal is to make movies accessible to everyone and to bring more people back to the cinemas. He also said the cinema is not just about watching movies, but also about socializing and having a unique experience that you cannot get at home.
World Cinema Day is becoming a big event in Nigeria, giving families and friends the chance to enjoy the magic of cinema at a much lower cost.
