The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has started loading petrol from the Dangote Refinery located in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
The process began with 10 trucks entering the loading area, where they were filled with petrol using a computerized system.
The Dangote Refinery has 86 loading points, which means 86 trucks can be filled at the same time. Out of these, 40 points are specifically for loading petrol. This is expected to help NNPC distribute petrol across the country more easily.
According to Devakumar V. G. Edwin, Vice President of Dangote Industries, the refinery can produce 54 million liters of petrol per day. This will help reduce the need for foreign petrol imports, saving Nigeria money.
The number of trucks arriving for loading is expected to grow, with NNPC planning to load hundreds of trucks in the coming days.
