Afrobeats star Ayodeji Balogun, known as Wizkid, has stirred up his ongoing feud with fellow musician David Adeleke, known as Davido, with a heated exchange on social media.
This new argument comes just months after their last disagreement on X (formerly Twitter), where Wizkid previously made fun of Davido and Don Jazzy, the boss of Mavin Records.
In May, Wizkid called Don Jazzy an “influencer” and shared a video showing Davido begging for new music.
The latest conflict started on Tuesday when Davido shared a preview of his first song for 2024.
Interestingly, Wizkid also planned to release his first track from the eagerly awaited “Morayo” album on the same day.
Things heated up when Davido’s friend, Kayode Yajaur, known as Black Tycoone, took a dig at Wizkid, suggesting he should release his album soon. He tweeted, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already.”
Wizkid quickly responded, throwing shade at Davido and his team, saying, “P***y boys dropping mid again,” and added, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small!”
While he did not directly name Davido, many fans interpreted his words as aimed at the “Fem” singer.
In defense of Davido, a fan criticized Wizkid for using Davido to gain attention. The fan tweeted, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?” Wizkid retorted “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
Wizkid did not stop there. He claimed Davido’s entire music collection was “trash” and boasted about his own success, saying, “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!”
Despite Wizkid’s attacks, Davido has chosen to stay quiet. Many speculate that this new tension might have started after Davido’s recent performance at Tony Elumelu’s UBA anniversary event in the United States.
While Davido entertained guests and took pictures with the billionaire, Wizkid, who is a UBA brand ambassador, was noticeably absent.
