The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that the suspension of biometric clearance and Community Development Services (CDS) is still in effect.
This statement comes after false information circulated on social media, claiming to be from the NYSC Director General.
The NYSC has labeled this information as fake and the work of unpatriotic individuals.
The NYSC expressed concern over the spread of false information and is committed to identifying and dealing with those responsible.
In an official statement signed by Eddy Megwa, Director of Information and Public Relations, the NYSC clarified that no genuine information from them will ever be released through social media bloggers.
“Corps Members will be adequately informed through the official channels of communication when the suspension is lifted,” the statement read in part.
The NYSC reassured Corps Members that they would be informed through official channels when the suspension is lifted.
Beyond Boders further reports that the organization emphasized the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Corps Members throughout their service year.
The NYSC warned Corps Members against participating in protests, as it would violate their oath and the NYSC Bye-laws.
The organization stressed that any updates on the increased minimum wage would be communicated promptly once approved by the authorities.
