The Lagos State Government has announced that traffic will be diverted on the Gbagada-Oworonshoki Expressway from Alapere-Ogudu-Car Wash and Iyana Oworo towards Anthony/Oshodi.
This closure will start at 6:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, and last until Sunday evening, May 26, 2024, due to an urgent situation.
Bolanle Ogunlola, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation, made the announcement late Friday.
Drivers are advised to use alternative routes during this time.
The statement explained that drivers will be redirected at the Ram Seller area near Gbagada General Hospital.

They will need to take Diya Street through New Garage by Jolad Hospital, then go to Gbagada Phase 2 via Pedro Road to reach Ikorodu Road and continue to their destinations.
Drivers coming from old Toll Gate/Ketu should use Ikorodu Road to get to Anthony, while those coming from Lagos Island via the Third Mainland Bridge will be redirected to Adekunle and Herbert Macaulay, then to Anthony/Oshodi through Jibowu on Ikorodu Road.
To this effect, the government implored motorists to be “patient and cooperate with the Traffic Management Personnel to ease their movements.”
