The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Linus Williams, a crypto billionaire known as Blord, in Abuja.
Beyond Boders reports that he was taken into custody on Tuesday due to accusations against his companies for cryptocurrency fraud, funding terrorism, and helping internet fraud.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force spokesperson, explained that complaints against Blord’s companies led to his arrest. These companies include Blord Group, Blord Real Estate Ltd, Blord Jetpaye Limited, and Billpoint Technology.
Adejobi said, “Yes, we have him with us. The FCID (NPF-NCCC) is currently investigating complaints lodged against Blord Group, Blord Real Estate Ltd, Blord Jetpaye Limited, and Billpoint Technology.
“These offences include allegations of cryptocurrency fraud, aiding internet fraud, computer-related fraud, terrorism funding, and non-compliance with regulatory frameworks.”
He assured that the police would investigate thoroughly to ensure cyberspace remains safe and secure.
Adejobi also clarified that the arrest was not due to a petition from Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.
