The Nigerian Senate has paid tribute to soldiers who died in service as the nation observes Armed Forces Remembrance Day on January 15th.
In a statement signed by Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, the Senate praised the sacrifices made by the military for the country’s safety.
“On behalf of the Senate Committee on Nigerian Army, I wish to pay tribute to our fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of our great nation,” Senator Yar’adua said.
He also praised current military officers for their efforts in keeping Nigeria secure.
January 15th is a day to remember and celebrate the bravery and dedication of military personnel who have died in the line of duty. Senator Yar’adua expressed deep gratitude for the armed forces’ commitment to the country’s unity and safety.
He acknowledged the families of the fallen soldiers, recognizing the pain of their loss and urging the nation to provide ongoing support. He emphasized the need for unity and continued efforts to ensure a safe environment for military personnel.
“Once again, I salute our fallen heroes and their families. May their sacrifices not be in vain. May we continue to work towards a nation where peace, unity, and prosperity reign supreme,” Senator Yar’adua concluded.
