Serena Williams’ Husband, Alexis Ohanian, Reveals Lyme Disease Battle

by Beyondboders

Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit and husband of tennis star Serena Williams, shared that he has Lyme disease.

Ohanian, 41, revealed on X/Twitter that he found out after doctors ran many health tests, stating, “Doing a full battery of health scans, tests, etc, and found out I have lyme disease. Wild. No symptoms, thankfully, but gonna treat.”

“Good cholesterol is too low. Bad cholesterol is just OK. Gotta work on that. On the plus-side: 822 ng/dL total + 162 ng/dL free testosterone,” he shared more about his health.

Ohanian also mentioned that someone he loves had Lyme disease a few years ago and had many symptoms before getting diagnosed. He was surprised by his own diagnosis because he spends little time in areas where Lyme disease is common.

He plans to take antibiotics to treat the disease, adding humour with a picture of The Tick cartoon character, saying, “Can’t keep me down, tick!”

Lyme disease is caused by bacteria from tick bites. Common symptoms include fever, headache, tiredness, and a skin rash.

It can usually be treated with a few weeks of antibiotics. If untreated, it can spread to the joints, heart, and nervous system, and can be serious.
