Fatai Odunsi, the father of popular Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, known as Asake, has said that his son has promised to buy him a house, pay his medical bills, and take care of his daughter.
Odunsi, also called Malo, recently went viral after he begged Nigerians to ask Asake to help him. He said he was suffering from a stroke and struggling to pay his hospital bills.
In a new interview with digital creator Aki Abolade, also known as Mrlilgaga, Odunsi expressed joy, saying Asake had reached out and agreed to handle all his needs. He prayed for the singer, saying, “I’m proud of him. He will not be unfortunate, nothing will happen to him, and he will not go down.”
He also explained that his earlier frustration came from not seeing Asake for a long time. “His mother ought to ask him, ‘When was the last time you saw your father?’ That was what infuriated me but we have settled everything. There is no fight anymore,” he said.
Meanwhile, Asake’s alleged baby mama, Adijat, has accused him of abandoning their 11-year-old daughter, Zeenat. She claimed that Asake blocked her after he became famous and stopped supporting their child.
“Before he became famous I always supported him. I sent him all my savings when he was at the University of Ife (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife).
“Asake used to call me to thank me for standing by him, but now I have tried to reach out to Asake but he starts saying that I am forcing myself on him.
“He even said if I continued to disturb him, he would block me on all his socials like WhatsApp, and after Asake got famous, he sent N1m to me and his daughter,” Adijat said during a live TikTok chat.
However, Odunsi confirmed that Asake has now agreed to take care of the child. “He (Asake) has said he will take care of her,” he said.
Following the controversy, many Nigerians praised Asake for stepping up to help his father and daughter.
