Napoli has changed its mind about giving Victor Osimhen’s number 9 shirt to Romelu Lukaku.
Earlier, the club had listed Lukaku as their new number 9 on the official website. This happened after Osimhen’s planned move to Chelsea fell through on the last day of the transfer window.
However, before their home match against Parma, Napoli’s official Twitter showed a video of the dressing room, with Lukaku now wearing the number 11 shirt.
There are reports that Lukaku turned down the number 9 jersey to show respect for Osimhen.
Lukaku came off the bench and scored the equalizer, helping Napoli win 2-1 against Parma on Saturday night.
