A storey building fell down early Saturday morning during heavy rain in Benin City, Edo State.
Beyond Boders learned that many students from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) got trapped inside the building.
The building is located on Ekhator Street, Ekosodin, which is a popular area for students to live.
One student, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that the university’s rescue team saved some of the students, but many were hurt badly. The injured students were quickly taken to the hospital for treatment.
The student also mentioned that one person is still trapped inside the broken building. The trapped person called for help from inside, and the rescue team is working hard to find and save them.
