Former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump has accepted an offer from Fox News to participate in a presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.
The debate which is scheduled for September 4, will be the first time Trump and Harris will face each other in a debate.
This follows President Joe Biden’s decision to step out of the race after Democrats raised concerns about his age and mental sharpness, especially after his poor performance in a debate against Trump in June.
Trump announced on Truth Social that the debate with Harris will take place in Pennsylvania.
He also emphasized that it should be held in front of a “full-arena audience,” unlike the June debate hosted by CNN, which had no spectators.
“I have agreed with FoxNews to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4. The debate was previously scheduled against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been terminated in that Biden will no longer be a participant… The Fox News debate will be held in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a site in an area to be determined,” Trump stated.
He also mentioned that the debate moderators will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the rules will be similar to those used in his debate with Biden, but this time with a full audience.
