Nigerian radio host, Chinedu Emmanuel, also known as Nedu Wazobia, has announced his decision to step down from “The Honest Bunch Podcast.”
His exit comes amid an ongoing controversy involving social media commentator, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly called Verydarkman.
The issue started when reality TV star, Deeone, appeared on “The Honest Bunch Podcast” and claimed that Verydarkman was interested in men. Instead of addressing the allegation, Verydarkman turned his attention to Nedu, revealing private conversations and making claims about women Nedu had reportedly been with.
As the controversy grew, Nedu took to Instagram on Friday to announce his resignation from the podcast. He said he made the decision to protect his peace of mind, family, and the reputation of the show.
In his statement, Nedu thanked fans for supporting the podcast but admitted that the backlash, false accusations, and constant criticism had affected him personally. He said stepping down was necessary to stop the negativity linked to his name.
“I have always been committed to honest conversations, but when those conversations lead to relentless attacks and misrepresentation, it becomes clear that stepping back is the best path forward,” he wrote.
Nedu expressed hope that his decision would allow “The Honest Bunch Podcast” to continue growing.
He also promised to stay committed to meaningful conversations and looked forward to new opportunities.
Beyond Boders recalls that “The Honest Bunch Podcast” was created by Glitch Africa in 2022 and features four main hosts: Nedu, Husband Material, Deity Cole, and Ezinne.
