A video showing long-time pals Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith catching up at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has sparked a lot of chatter online.
The clip began with Smith giving Bieber a hug from behind and sharing a little dance together.
Later, Smith joined Bieber’s group of friends, and Bieber plants a friendly kiss on Smith’s cheek.
Instead of just appreciating their friendship, some folks on the internet went on a homophobic tangent, calling their interaction “gay” in a derogatory manner.
They even drew comparisons to recent allegations against rapper and producer Sean “P. Diddy” Combs.

charlesgoupil: “Why are all famous people gay?”
felixthmpsn: “When you got money and aren’t concerned with the opinions of others, you’ll find people more freely express themselves. The only people pressed about this are people that have zero impact on their lives.”
ms.fit_the_misfit: “I ain’t gonna lie.. I feel like they were just playing but whatever lol”
jvst_mello_: “famous people are strange to say the very least…”
mamakayofficial: “It’s sad when two men play and show affection towards each other their gay and when two women play and show affection towards each other their lesbians. Maybe they are maybe they’re not, can’t we just normalize showing affection towards each other without all the judgement. Maybe they are just good friends that have both been through hell. Live and let live”
eddie_santos_83: “All these celebrities and hip hop stars are gay. 100% this was no act or joke.”
