Wizkid has joined forces with Brent Faiyaz for a new song called “Piece of My Heart.”
The track was released on Friday, October 18, and is the lead single from Wizkid’s upcoming album “Morayo.” This new album is set to drop on November 22 under Starboy, Sony Music International, and RCA Records.
Recently, the two musicians were seen together in London, and Wizkid shared a short clip of the song on Instagram. In the song, Faiyaz sings, “Nothing can tear us apart / You’ve got a piece of my heart.”
So far this year, Wizkid has only worked on a few collaborations, such as “MMS” with Asake from his album “Lungu Boy,” and “Work Me Out” with Shenseea from her album “Never Gets Late Here.”
Brent Faiyaz has also been featured on one big collaboration this year, “Should’ve Wore a Bonnet” with 21 Savage from the album “American Dream.”
Both artistes have worked with the same musicians in the past, including Don Toliver. They both appeared on his 2023 album “Love Sick,” with Wizkid on the track “Slow Motion” and Faiyaz on “Bus Stop.”
They also share a connection with Tems. Wizkid and Tems collaborated on the hit song “Essence,” which reached No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 after a remix with Justin Bieber.
Faiyaz worked with Tems on “Found” from her 2021 EP “If Orange Was a Place,” which made it to No. 17 on the Hot R&B Songs chart.
Wizkid’s new album “Morayo” means “I see joy” in Yoruba, and it will be his sixth studio album.
His last album, “More Love, Less Ego,” was released in 2022 and reached No. 59 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 2 on the World Albums chart.
