Abdullateef Aliyu Maiyaki, also known as Mufti Yaks, has died at the age of 20 on Saturday morning, June 1, 2024, at the National Hospital in Abuja after a short illness.
Beyond Boders reports that Mufti Yaks was a well-known Islamic cleric and motivational speaker from Niger State.
His death was announced by renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Ismail Ibn Menk on Facebook.
Menk expressed his sorrow, saying, “I’m saddened by the news of the death of the young Abdul Latif Miyaki Mufti Yaks this morning. He was a very talented young lad trying to spread goodness. May Allah Almighty forgive him, accept his good deeds and grant him the highest ranks of Paradise. Ameen.”
Isa Pantami, the former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, also mourned the loss on Facebook. He described Mufti Yaks as his son and wrote, “Inna lil Laahi wa inna ilaiHi Raajiun! Just heard that our beloved son, Abdullateef Aliyu Maitaki, popularly known as MUFTI YAKS passed away. What a great loss! Janaza by 10 am at Justice Maiyaki’s residence Dutsen Kura Gwari, Minnah. May the Almighty Allah admit him into Jannatul Firdaus.”
Born in 2004, Mufti Yaks was known for promoting peace and understanding through his teachings. He touched many lives with his message and left a lasting impact.
His website describes him as a passionate motivational speaker who worked to solve community problems and help children in difficult family situations. He received an award for his inspirational work.
