Vincent Enyeama, the former goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, is grieving the loss of his father, Phillip Enyeama.
The retired goalie shared the sad news on his Instagram account over the weekend. Alongside a heartfelt tribute, he posted a video showing moments of him and his late father playing Table Tennis together.
In his tribute, he expressed gratitude for his father’s impactful life, describing him as selfless and generous, while crediting his father for being instrumental in the success of many individuals, including himself.
“It’s a series. Your number was called. Farewell. God rest your soul in peace,” Vincent wrote, bidding his father farewell.
Coach Phillip Enyeama, Vincent’s father, had a notable coaching career and played a pivotal role in shaping his son’s early training. He is remembered for nurturing one of Africa’s finest goalkeepers.
This loss comes as another blow for Vincent Enyeama, who had previously lost his mother in 2015.
