Chelsea is close to signing 18-year-old Marc Guiu from Barcelona, according to news from Spain.
Guiu, a young striker, played for Barcelona’s main team during the 2023-24 season. He scored two goals in seven games across different competitions.
He made his first appearance for the senior team in a match against Athletic Bilbao last October, where he scored the winning goal with his second touch.
Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, reported that Chelsea has made an offer to Guiu and is ready to pay his €6 million release clause to “get it done soon,” adding that
New Chelsea coach, Enzo Maresca, has spoken to Guiu several times. Guiu likes Chelsea’s focus on young players and thinks the Premier League fits his playing style, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Recently, Chelsea also signed 17-year-old Brazilian player Estevao Willian from Palmeiras. Willian will join Chelsea next summer when he turns 18.
