The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied reports that Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has been banned from the national team.
Beyond Boders reports that these rumours started after Osimhen’s recent social media posts.
NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, expressed surprise at the reports. He stated that the NFF has not taken any steps to ban Osimhen.
Dr. Sanusi urged the media to help solve issues positively and focus on the important goals ahead.
“There was no official communication from the NFF, yet some persons have gone to town to talk about a ban on Osimhen from the National Team. This is not good at all,” he said.

He emphasized that the NFF’s main goal is to resolve any issues within the Super Eagles team. They want to prepare confidently for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers and the remaining matches for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
“This is not the time to spread falsehood and foul the public space the more,” Dr. Sanusi concluded.
