Sandy Baltimore, 24, has left Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) after nine years to join Chelsea. She played over 200 games for PSG.
“I’m very happy to join Chelsea. It feels incredible. I have always wanted to play for Chelsea and now look, it has happened!” said Baltimore, excited about moving from Paris to London.
Chelsea’s general manager, Paul Green, said, “We are delighted to bring Sandy to Chelsea. She is an exciting wide player who will give more balance to the squad, adding another naturally left-footed player.”
Green also spoke about Baltimore’s experience: “Sandy has gained a wealth of experience in France, including within the UEFA Women’s Champions League, and will bring more competition to the squad. We are looking forward to seeing her in Chelsea blue.”
Baltimore started playing for PSG in the 2016/17 season. Even though she is young, she has won one French league title, three French cups, and played 43 times in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
In the 2020/21 season, she was named Young Player of the Season at the D1 Arkema awards.
Baltimore has also played 28 times for the French national team and will be part of their next international games.
