Nigerian music star, Davido, has suggested that he might stop fighting for custody of his daughter, Imade.
This comes after Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu, mentioned the sad death of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi, in a recent legal document.
Sophia Momodu claimed that Davido’s home is not safe for their daughter. She said his busy and controversial lifestyle could harm Imade.
Momodu pointed to the tragic death of Ifeanyi in 2022 as proof of her concerns.
In her statement, Momodu wrote that Davido’s home has many people coming and going, which is not good for a young girl like Imade.

She also said that Davido disagreed with child therapy and has not been involved in Imade’s life.
Davido responded on social media, expressing his pain over the death of his son and hinting that he might give up on the custody fight.
He said, “Your constantly bringing up the death of my child at any point u can to just remind us of this tragedy that haunts us everyday of our lives .. Imade will grow up to see I fought for her .. as for now u can have her .. P.S she won’t be a child forever .. enjoy. Imade Aurora Adeleke ! Your father loves you!”
Beyond Boders recalls that Davido had taken Momodu to court, asking for custody of Imade and claiming he has been paying for her education, housing, and other needs.
Momodu responded, saying that since they broke up in July 2022, Davido has not contacted their child or supported her emotionally or financially. She said he had chosen not to see Imade, and she never stopped him from visiting.
Now, it seems Davido is ready to let Momodu have custody of Imade, hoping that one day, his daughter will understand that he fought for her.
