Mother of Nigerian singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, Jane Dolapo Balogun, has been laid to rest today.
The funeral service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Dideolu Estate, off, Ligali Ayorinde St, Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday, had Wizkid and his sisters present, along with high-profile persons including clergymen.
Wizkid in an emotional speech, said:

A christian wake and tribute held in her honour on Thursday 12, October, at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, and Casino, 6-8 Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Beyond Boders notes that Wizkid’s mother was born on July 14, 1957, and died on August 18, 2023. The deceased is survived by her husband, M.O Balogun, and four children, namely Yetunde Balogun, Omolara Osunkoya, Olubusayo Balogun, Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid) and many grandchildren.
